Mary-Louise Parker will star Roundabout Theatre Company

Actress Mary-Louise Parker will star in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival opening Jan. 25, artistic director Todd Haimes said Monday. Preview performances begin Jan. 6 at the American Airlines Theatre.

The production, in a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, will be directed by Ian Rickson, former artistic director of London's Royal Court Theatre. Additional casting will be announced.

The play was last seen on Broadway in 2001 with Kate Burton in the title role.

Last season, she was seen off-Broadway in the Playwrights Horizons production of "Dead Man's Cell Phone" by Sarah Ruhl.

Parker, a best-actress Tony winner for her role in "Proof," is nominated this year for a best-actress Emmy Award for her role of Nancy Botwin, a widowed suburban mother who starts selling marijuana to support her family in the Showtime offbeat comedy series.

The actress won an Emmy for "Angels in America." She's won two Golden Globe Awards, one for "Angels in America," the other for "Weeds," and had a recurring role on NBC's "The West Wing." Her screen credits include "Fried Green Tomatoes," "Boys on the Side" and "The Client."
