WELLINGTON, Fla.—Vanilla Ice was released from jail Friday following his arrest on a charge of simple battery for allegedly pushing his wife.
The 39-year-old rap performer was arrested Thursday night at the couple's Wellington home in South Florida. Police said his wife called 911, saying he had kicked and hit her during an argument over buying a bedroom set. She later told deputies he had only pushed her.
Police said Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, denied pushing her.
He was freed Friday after appearing in court.
It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney. His agent, Tommy Quon, said he hadn't heard about the arrest and couldn't comment.
